i stumbled across this gem from bravenewgamer.com. brave new gamer is talking about backwards compatibility in consoles and is making a valid point. go ahead and read it; it’s informative. kind of makes you sit back and go ‘huh.’
personally, i went for the backwards compatible console. it came up as a mega-deal on ebay, plus i had 40 or 50 playstation2 games, so why not? i wanted to protect my investments. that was april 2009. fast forward to december of the same year, and i have played very few ps2 games on my ps3. i think i popped one or two in, just to make sure it worked. beyond that, nothing. sometimes i pick up a few classics, because i vow i ‘one day i will play it.’ i’ve even picked up one or two for the original playstation, under the same foolishly optimistic pretense. game stores love me, but actually playing the damn thing? it almost never happens – i am way too addicted to the sony trophy system.
since i again can only presume you are all hanging on my every word with baited breath, please comment in the section below.
happy new year, everyone!
