my fellow gamers: if you haven’t heard about assassin’s creed 3, you should call your real estate agent and bitch them out for selling you a house located under a rock. why do you want to live under a rock?! they stole your money, money you could have spent pre-ordering assassin’s creed 3! you should be pissed! it’s coming out either this year or the next! i’ve used so many exclamation points and i don’t even have a quota! it’s just the excitement of it all!
deep breath: what i want to say is that this whole series is amazing. when the first assassin’s creed game came out, i admit i didn’t really pay attention to it. that’s likely because it came out in November 2007 – i was still rocking my ps2 in those days. i didn’t actually make the jump to ps3 until april 2009. anyway, even when eb games dropped the price on assassin’s creed [$25], i still didn’t buy it. there’s no trophy support for this game. i held the same sort of apathy towards the second installment when it got released in november 2009. yeah there were trophies, but it was all like ‘be stealthy’, and ‘don’t draw attention to yourself’… i felt that it wanted too many things from me.
i think that in a previous obnoxious gamer post i told you that on new year’s day, i caved in and picked up assassin’s creed 2 at best buy for $40 CDN. frankly, i was shocked to still see copies at that price. it was one those boxing day sale things, and i figured why not? sure, i wasn’t too into it, but it was a hot and new playstation 3 game for $40. how can you go wrong? it was the exact same line of thinking that had me buy batman: arkham asylum and i love that game. anyway, i bought it and a couple days later, started playing it.
i admit, i am blown away by assassin’s creed 2. i’m more of a ‘kill first, ask questions later’ kind of girl, so the concept of ‘stealth’ and ‘blending in’ really aren’t on my list of things to do. i have to admit it wasn’t love at first sight: getting out of that weirdo complex was a pain in the ass. once it opened up to that blast from the past though, (italy during the 1400s), i fell in love. i think it was mutual. ezio auditore ran around looking at the landmarks in his time, then i looked them up on google streetview in my time. you know, it felt a little like that movie, the lake house.
i’m so glad assassin’s creed 3 is coming out. it means he and i can have sexy adventures together.
