ahh, the french. what a beautiful people. probably every gamer on the planet has had the idea to do this, but the french actually did it, rather than sit around talking about it. in their latest clever moment, they have devised a video game museum. i found this bit of info on jvn.com. they’re a french site, so if you don’t speak the language, grab the google toolbar. basically, this is what’s going on: apparently the country had a very successful retrogaming exhibit last summer and it’s birthing a revolution. because of that success, the ministère de la culture (ministry of culture) is helping fund le musée du jeu vidéo (the museum of video games). it opens april 14 at 10am at the grande arche de la defense in paris. it’s going to be open 7 days a week, til about 9 or 10 pm. admission is 10 euros. there’s going to be about 200 machines on display, some portraits of designers and other icons of the gaming world.
not much else is known, but stay tuned!
