well this list is almost sure to piss off someone, somewhere. anyway, here’s a list of games on ps3 i can’t live without.
fallout 3: so much love for fallout 3. it was one of the first games i played on the ps3, and playing it on xbox 360 kind of pushed me towards getting a ps3.
infamous: while i initially resisted it, it’s just too good. whether you are good or evil, cole mcgrath takes you on adventures you never dreamed about. i knew it was good when i fell off a building and felt those weird stomach nerve thingies.
eat lead: return of matt hazard: if you’re a hardcore gamer, you might hate it. it’s cheesy. it’s got will arnett. it’s ridiculous from start to finish. then again, if you have a sense of humour, you will love it.
assassin’s creed 2: this was the $40 game i was banging on about a while back. it’s beautiful, and even if you just can’t stop the fps love, this game is a must. it’s violent, but not to the point you look away. plus, you can platinum on it with just a wee bit of effort.
prototype: if you have infamous, this is kind of the same thing. this game is a lot darker and grittier than infamous though, and you can be a shapeshifter. there’s more climbing options here too.
rainbow six vegas 2: no trophies, but the multiplayer options are too much fun.
god of war 3: GET IT. that is all i will say.
god of war collection: you’ll need this at some point. trust me.
need for speed undercover: if you like racing games and destruction, you should own this.
uncharted: adventure. also, easy trophies.
uncharted 2: heart-stopping adventure, with amazing graphics. it twists, it turns, and in the end, there’s a happy ending. plus it has a buttload of awards, so you know a lot of planning went into it.
battlefield bad company: hilarious dialogue and engaging missions.
battlefield bad company 2: possibly better than the first one.
batman arkham asylum: this was another $40 game thing for me. some idiot at eb games put ‘$30 off’ in a flyer, rather than ‘30%’. walmart naturally matched the price. in a delicious twist of fate, eb games had to match it, since they’d lose their pre-orders. best buy tried to make these places corrected their prices, but the laughter drowned out those thoughts.
bioshock: creepy. but if you like an art deco creep show, this game is for you.
gta iv: this game was really all about the hype. it was good, but i played the first few missions and it didn’t do much for me. again though, it was good. i have intentions to pick it up one day, but there so many distractions in the game. do i help cousin roman out, or do i wait by an atm and beat the shit out of people for money? yeah. life’s tough.
lego indiana jones 2: a lego game, with trophies. what else do you need to know? oh, the mega-glitch that will eff up your trophy efforts.
mercenaries 2: interesting game. of course, it’s better [like most things] with a buddy. get a game for your buddy – copies of the game go for $20.
