my first experience with zelda was on my cousin’s old NES. we’d spend hours as kids playing this game in my aunt and uncle’s basement. they lived out in the country, and their basement was always simply glacial. we’d go upstairs periodically to get warm, then back down for more. it was utterly and completely the coldest place in any house i have ever been in.
did we care? fuck no. we were playing zelda. besides, everyone knows that pain is simply weakness leaving the body.
during the summer, little_nerdxo went a little nuts for twilight princess. i have a CRT tv in my room, so she played that almost non-stop. i love to swear, but little_nerdxo definitely give me a run for my money with the stuff she screams at midna, link’s weird ass companion.
‘midna you bitch! ask me one more goddamn question and i rip out your vocal chords!’
even now, all i have to do is mention ‘midna’ and it’s almost a sure thing that she will froth at the mouth. it’s a great party trick.
i have just discovered that there are action figures available. here’s the description:
In line with the first instalment, the Midna & Wolf Link centrepiece will also be a 1/4th scale figure, measuring 15 inches tall and 15 inches long. A special limited edition will also be produced, and First 4 Figures “can’t confirm or deny if the only difference between the normal and exclusive version will be LED-light for the exclusive version”. Due to a low number of units being manufactured, statues will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
whatever. i am going to buy one and torture little_nerdxo with them.
