video games, video games, video games! or, in other words, how i have spent an insane amount of my time lately. the ps3 and i are nearing our 1 year anniversary – my boyfriends are jealous since i refuse to celebrate any such event with them.
anyway, in honour of such an occasion, here’s my favourite ps3 exclusives.
infamous: love this game. originally, when playing the demo i thought it was stupid. i used to work at a place with a games room, an office with a ps3, an xbox360 and a wii. this was my first demo on the ps3, and i judged the book by its cover. i also played the skate 2 demo, and my theory is that i was too overwhelmed with hostility about said demo that day to see clearly. my friend [let’s call her captainadventure] really opened my eyes on this game, and we played the shit out of the first little bit. however, i was used to the first person view that many ps3 games had, and was a little set in my ways at the time.
anyway, a few months later, i had adjusted to the new views the ps3 had, and captainadventure loaned me her copy in exchange for x-men origins: wolverine. i started playing it; in the process discovering something amazing: it was one of the few times i was wrong. then, sony dropped the price to $40 and i picked it up. infamous and i lived happily ever after.
uncharted 2: fantastic. if you don’t have it, get it. despite the fact that nathan drake is an incredibly sexist jackass, the gameplay is fun, and the graphics and cinematics are stunning. there’s tons of trophies, and while i haven’t tried it, there’s also a co-op mode.
god of war 3 [/the god of war collection]: i’ve said it before, and i will say it again: there is no man like the k-man. kratos is the main reason i bought my ps3, in hot anticipation of the glorious last chapter, god of war 3. i’m playing through it now, and it’s just so fantastic. sigh. so in love.
